The Narozalic Pro League (NPL) is the premier men's professional basketball league in Narozalica, and is widely considered to be one of the premier leagues in the world. The league consists of 26 teams split into two conferences - western and eastern - of which teams compete for playoff berths. Playoff teams enter a 16-team elimination, played until one team from one conference plays a team from the other in the season's finals, with one team becoming champion. The league season runs from the end of March to November, with the playoffs beginning in early October. Teams play 60 games in a single season, not including playoffs, playing each team from their conference three times and each team from the opposing conference twice.
The league was founded in 1985 in Samistopol as a consolidation of a variety of smaller regional leagues, with an initial roster of 20 teams. Since then, six expansion franchises have joined the league, the most successful of which are the Onatskoye Jets, with two championships in 2003 and 2005.
