Zjednoczeni (We are united) is a West Miersan electoral alliance comprised of the Miersan National Party, Razem! and Nowoczesność. Established on 12 April, 2021, it was meant to compete against the governing Naprzód for the 2021 general elections.
History
On December 17, 2020, Aleksandra Wojdyla, leader of the Miersan National Party called for a "unity front" against the governing Naprzód after they passed a wide-ranging amendment to the West Miersan constitution which expanded the number of appointed seats in the National Assembly from 92 to 159 seats.
This offer was received well by the leadership of the Green Party Razem! and Nowoczesność. However, on 12 February, 2021, the Green Party membership rejected joining the unity front under concerns that the front would "not care about the environment," and that association with the Miersan National Party would "lead to the loss of all our seats" in the National Assembly.
After the Green Party rejected joining the "unity front" against Naprzód, the Miersan National Party, Razem!, and Nowoczesność negotiated the terms for establishing a "united front," with one of the conditions agreed by all sides being that member parties cannot run candidates against each other, in order to guarantee both representation for the two smaller parties in the National Assembly, and to prevent vote-splitting benefitting Naprzód.
After crafting a common platform, which included a promise to rebuild Miersan democracy, remaining in Samorspi, and recognising minority rights, the three leaders held a joint press conference on 12 April, 2021 to announce the formation of the unity front, which was named Zjednoczeni at the press conference.
Platform
As an electoral alliance, Zjednoczeni's platform is to win the 2021 general election, to Third Amendment to the Constitution of West Miersa, and to "rebuild Miersan democracy." It advocates for a reunification of all Miersa under the Miersan Sotirian Republic, and to remain in Samorspi.
Zjednoczeni would recognise Vedmedi and Lemovician as minority languages alongisde Soravian, and to promote minority rights in West Miersa.
As part of their goal to win the 2021 general election, member parties will not run candidates against each other, to guarantee that Naprzód will not win as a result of vote-splitting.
