Prehistory (up to 1500 BCE)
Era characteristics: the introduction of agriculture, metallurgy, the wheel.
- ??? – Folcwalding leads the Heer, an ancient warrior society, to victory against smaller hostile tribes and lays the foundation for Aemen civilisation.
- Circa 4000 BCE – Central Casaterra (Sylva, Sidonia, Murovanka, Erquin, Aemen) unified by Sylvan warlord Caliphus I.
- Circa 2150 BCE: Cuneiform tables in the Proto-Chikai Empire makes possible references to Themiclesia as a source of lapis lazuli and turquoise.
- Circa 2000 BCE: Sarcophagus culture radiates in southern Themiclesia, characterized by its gigantic, heavily-decorated stone sarcophagi used as landmarks and communal objects.
- Circa 2000 BCE – Agni Ignis supervolcano erupts, killing nearly a quarter of Casaterra’s population. The majority of the region’s denizens migrate to the coasts, and the Sylvan Empire loses control of it’s north and western provinces of Erquin and Murovanka. Much of Heer culture is lost in the aftermath.
Ancient history (1500-500 BCE)
Era characteristics: writing; Iron age; coinage.
- 9th century: Meng agricultural and mining activities and artifacts in Themiclesia.
- Circa 750: earliest Meng settlements in Themiclesia.
- Circa 520: earliest Mengja writing in Themiclesia.
Classical history (500 BCE-500 CE)
Era characteristics: limited inter-regional trade over long distances.
- 5th century: walled cities in Themiclesia.
- 385 BCE: Themiclesia enters the historical period with the Annals of Six States.
- 100 CE: Themiclesia enters its Classical period as states increase in scale and the rise of prose histories.
- 256 CE: Themiclesia-proper is nominally united under the Tsins hegemony.
- 420 CE: Tsins is overthrown by Sungs in Themiclesia; the hegemonic system is dissolved.
Medieval era (500-1500 CE)
Era characteristics: religious stabilisation of minotheist religions.
- 502 — in Themiclesia, the Dzeei is replaced by the Liang Dynasty; the royal house of the Chonro-based Menghean dynasty flees to Themiclesia and merges with the ruling clan there, causing the Themiclesian monarch to adopt the title of Emperor.
- 600s — early exploration of the Columbian east coast; commercial activity with native societies.
- 700s —
- 1056-1061 – War of Sylvan Succession breaks out when the heir apparent Prince Diederik usurps the throne from his father, Leo XV. The resulting conflict lasts twenty years and ends only after the death of Leo XV on the field of battle and his replacement by William III, who gives his brother control of modern-day Aemen.
- 15th century — Minilovan explorer Sloboda Tepeș proposes an expedition to western Casaterra to the Sylvan king, but he is refused. Tepeș then proposes the same idea to NATION who goes on to discover CONTINENT. But Tepeș does not receive any credit and is forgotten.
- 1439-1442 – The War of the Purifier breaks out between Aemen and Sylva after King Baudouin the Pure launches a campaign of ethnic cleansing against his Sylvan neighbours. Ends in Sylvan victory after Baudouin passes away from wounds he sustained in combat and is replaced by his son.
Early modern era (1500-1750 CE)
Era characteristics: inter-continental discoveries; introduction of gunpowder; printing press; mercenary armies.
- 1636 – Maracaibo and Altagracia founded by Sylvan colonists. In today’s northern Murovanka, King Zimal unites several kingdoms and establishes the Federal Kingdom of Murovanka (Bundeskoenigreich Wanka).
Modern era (1750-1900)
Era characteristics: industrial revolution; Republican nations; steam engines; coal mining; the emergence of modern nation-states; prohibition of slavery; military conscription.
- 1749-1753 – Sylvan King Arthur XI outlaws all non-monotheistic religions. As a result, many Sylvan provinces, especially in the Germanic north, break into open rebellion. Supported by the government of Erquin and Aemen the rebels defeated Arthur XI and adopted the Sylvan Federal Constitution and founded the Coalition State of Sylva.
- 1757 – Taking advantage of the turmoil in Sylva, the Federal Kingdom of Murovanka invades and annexes much of what is southern Murovanka today.
- 1800-1824 – The Colonial Wars begin between the Casaterran superpowers in an attempt to consolidate positions outside of Casaterra. Sylva loses control of nearly all her colonial holdings due to foreign invasion and domestic uprisings. Most notably the colonies of Maracaibo and Altagracia become independent, which later form the Democratic Republic of Meinkraft (DRMK).
- 1834 – Severe economic depression ravages the Monarchy of Erquin, toppling the government and replacing it with a fascist dictatorship, Rileg Gustav the II.
- 1846-1849 – The House of Hohenzentner, which ruled Murovanka for over 200 years, is toppled after a brutal 3-year civil war. Wilhelm Friedrich von Auerhahn proclaims himself the Holy Emperor of Wanka.
- 1861 – Democratic Republic of Meinkraft (DRMK) officially organised, after large deposits of platinum found.
- 1869 – 200-mile wall along the St. Michael’s Strait is completed by DRMK. The original building is constructed of limestone and concrete and is armed with coastal guns. This project is undertaken to protect against seafaring raiders.
- 1889 – The House of Olbridge supersedes the House of Folcwalding in Aemen, becoming the new Royal Family through King Aldert IV.
20th Century (1901-2000)
Era characteristics: colonialism; military innovations; advanced farming; aviation; space exploration; idea of total war.
- 1919-1921 – The Sylvan-Aemen War results in the secession of Sidonia to Aemen rule. King Stephen XI of Aemen sets about consolidating his power with a renewed military build-up at the expense of his new subjects.
- 1923 – Rubin & Sons Oil Company founded, after an unprecedented amount of petroleum is found in the DRMK.
- 1931-1938 – The Pan-Septentrion War breaks out between the two major regional power blocs. The first use of chemical weapons on a battlefield.
- 1939 – From the ashes of the Pan-Septentrion War, the Allied Nations is officially formed, operating under the flag of liberty, peace, and equality, though government corruption with big business plagues the alliance from the start.
- 1956 – The Allied Nations begin their expansion across the continent south of Casaterra.
- 1964-1970 – The Second Pan-Septentrion War breaks out.
- 1974 – Prince Daniel, son of King Reginald I, is crowned King of Aemen and adopts the regnal name Reginald II.
- 1975 – Start of the Wankan “Dark Ages”. Ethno-religious-ideological civil wars tear the Murovankan Kaiserreich apart, a conflict that lasted until the turn of the century.
- 1982 – War in the Sellenland (W: Sellenlandkrieg) between Aemen and the Murovankan Kaiserreich; Aemen victory and annexation of the Sellenland.
21st Century (2001-now)
Era characteristics: globalisation; terrorism; mobile technology.
- 2001 – End of the Wankan Dark Ages. Secular center-left moderates under Ulrike Meinhof establish the Volksrepublik Wanka. The wars and accompanying famines result in over 20 million deaths; the country is left impoverished and traumatised. Ethnic conflicts continue in the south and north.
- March 2015 -– Spinnelli Refinery fire becomes the catalyst for the Second Sellenland War, a five-day conflict which ends in the establishment of the Sellenland Free State and a Cold War between the AAA and NAZI.
