Biography
Military career
Wen was born in September 13, NMR 2317. A member of a military family, Wen is the daughter of Ling Fo, a veteran general of the NLA who fought in the Namo-Chorean War and the subsequent Namorese Civil War. She is also the youngest of three children. Her older two brothers both entered the NLA, and she followed suit, joining the NLA Ground Force. Months after joining the Ground Force, she served in the Third Namo-Luziycan War as a member of the logistics unit.
Wen continued her military career after serving the required 18 months in the NLA. In NMR 2338, she was moved from Namor to Roubao, where she spent the next 25 years as a member of the Namorese Volunteer Corps in Roubao.
During much of her tour of duty in Roubao, Wen headed the NVCR's public relations department. She was able to establish a good rapport with the Roubanese populace, such that she became involved in local politics. She voiced support for the Peony Revolution but favored a Pan-Unolian outlook; following the abdication of the monarchy, she endorsed the Unolian People's Movement and encouraged it to form an alliance with the Unoliasceptic People's Interests Party.
Following a scandal in which NVCR commander-in-chief Shao Linke advised Roubanese Prime Minister Dong Xiao to develop weapons of mass destruction without authorization from the Namorese government, Wen replaced Shao as the NVCR's commander-in-chief, becoming the paramilitary organization's first female leader and Namor's top representative on the island. As commander-in-chief, Wen played a substantial role in coordinating joint Namorese-Roubanese operations during the Second Roubao Crisis. While she remained on good terms with Namorese President-General Alicia Wolf, Wen later revealed that she had many objections to the Wolf administration's Roubao policy. While Wolf preferred restricting measures to defend Roubao to operations within Roubanese territory, Wen favored expanding the scope of operations to include preemptive strikes on mainland Unolia.
In NMR 2363, Wen was called back to Namor by President-General Kaitlyn Khan, who appointed her as Commander of the Northwestern Military Region. Wen became the first woman to command any of Namor's military regions. She served in that position for ten years before retiring from the military in NMR 2373.
Minister of Defense
Wen endorsed Antelope Shohai in both NMR 2373 and NMR 2378. During both elections, she was listed as one of the potential members of an Antelope-led cabinet.
Following Antelope's victory in the NMR 2378 election, it was confirmed that Wen would serve as Minister of Defense. Wen thus took the position of Defense Minister in April 20, NMR 2378, becoming the first woman to fill that position.
Political views
Wen became a member of the Liberationist Party of Namor at the age of 22. She identifies herself with the hard leftist faction of the Liberationists.
She was a critic of the Fu Wen administration's center-rightist economic policies. In an interview with The Liberator, she said she was "concerned that the current government, by downsizing its traditional role in people's livelihoods and embracing excessive laissez-faire economics, is turning its back towards the values promoted by the revolution." Wen has considered Kong Jo to be "an ideal President-General," citing his willingness to adopt reforms within the framework of Liberationist ideals.
Personal Life
Wen Ketze married Ying Chuven in NMR 2342. They have two sons - Ying Haojin (born NMR 2344) and Wen Aiguk (born NMR 2346).
