History

1985-1989: The Beginning & Launch of the Tracyn Computer

Matthew Nissen and Robert Nimez were best friends in what existed of primary school at the time. Matthew was the marketer and explorer and Robert was the technological brawns. Robert hand-built the first native Makko Okoan computer system in June 1985, with only a bare motherboard and a custom-produced 0.5MHz CPU. The system ran off of physical chips, to be known as a SOC (system on a chip), and did not have RAM or temporary storage of any medium.

After Robert created it and showed it at a worldwide festival referred to as the Technological Worldwide Convention in 1986, Matthew was able to convince Robert to sell it. The system, referred to as the Nimez-Nissen System, was sold as a group of components for SLO$750. It garnered some attention internationally, however foreigners had created better systems and fell out into obscurity rather quick.

Robert decided to travel to an international institute for engineering in 1987 and review what would set them apart from the competition. He found "[...] limited capability for expansion and little support for external support". Robert took this knowledge and sold his home and live with Matthew to get the funds to develop what would ultimately become the Tracyn I.

The Tracyn I launched after 2 years in development as "The First True Computer, Made By Engineers". It sold for SLO$2,000 and was oriented towards the international market.

1989-1995: The Success of the Tracyn Computer & Founding

Everybody from every nation and area that could afford a Tracyn I bought one, with the biggest consumers and spenders being universities and labs, seeking to test out and use the computer to help speed up research. Within the first 2 years on market, Robert & Matthew made a whopping SLO$5M, a record at a time where Makko Oko was preparing to become a nation and change the way of life there forever.

On January 1st, 1992, Matthew & Robert officially formed Tracyn Inc., named after the Tracyn I. Matthew has been quoted as saying to foreign news sources: "I think the time is now to benefit ourselves, merely not others". By early 1993, tribal leaders and the government were alert to the profits that the duo were making, and the illiterate government asked them for a demonstration. After the demonstration, they were laughed out, however, Tracyn still funded an advertising campaign worth SLO$240K, and that led to instant revenue for the company.

The company was criticized for not including manuals on how to use a computer since Makko Oko lagged behind other nations in computer adoption rates, and after enough backlash, started including a 9,367-page booklet on "How to use a Tracyn" in October 1995 to coincide with the launch of the Tracyn II.
