The Quidditch Association of Amenria (Chinese: 亚洲帝国魁地奇协会; pinyin: Yàzhōu Dìguó Kuídeqí Xiéhuì lit. Asia Empire Quidditch Association) is the federal governing body of quidditch in the Empire of Amenria. In Amenria, the game is played on hoverbikes instead of brooms, and the Bludger and the Snitch are drones programmed to target heat from players and their hoverbikes and move in random patterns respectively.
History
Establishment
The association was founded in 2047 when the Heavenly Emperor of Amenria, Tianshi, intended for Amenria to compete multiversally in quidditch as all countries in Prime Realm were invited to the game. Being completely unfamiliar with the multiversal quidditch scene, the first Amenrian quidditch team, the Seoul Enforcers (often stylized as N-forcers), was assembled later that year and comprised entirely of military personnel, with the exception of seeker Shin Ryujin, a street racer who was offered an imperial pardon in return for joining the team and representing the country. The players were chosen because of their skill in maneuvering the hoverbike, the vehicle used by Amenrians to play the sport on as flying brooms are not manufactured at a scale viable for competitive use, if at all.
The Enforcers was eliminated following defeat by the national team of Pius Desurongcrandis in the last match of the Round of 16 stage. The empire would continue to compete in subsequent Quidditch World Cups.
Prior to 2048, player numbers deviated from the international standards, with players having numbers such as 38 and 62. This was changed in the 2048 Regional Championships.
2048 Regional Championships
Following a new set of policies enacted by the Ministry of Sports in early 2048, which stipulates that the players of the National Team be drawn from the best players in their respective competitive regions, which included individual states, with the exception of Indochina (included in Nusantara for tournament purposes). the first Amenrian Quidditch Regional Championships were held. In practice, this meant that only players belonging to teams in the Golden League had a chance of being selected to join the national team. In 2048, two players, both chasers; were drawn from the Saigon Snipers, two from the Seoul Enforcers; one chaser and one beater. The beater was drawn from the Koga Krakens, the keeper, Qingdao Mariners, and the seeker, Mumbai Mahouts.
Professional Leagues
Professional quidditch in Amenria is organized by the QAA and currently consists of four professional leagues organized in a hierarchical format with promotion and relegation between the leagues. The Golden League is the top flight of professional quidditch in Amenria, founded in 2048 with the rest of the professional leagues, the second tier league Silver League, third tier league Bronze League, and the individual State Leagues.
