The 1st Airborne Division is an airborne infantry division of the Lucis Army formed during the Second Europan War. It is the first of the two airborne divisions raised by the Lucis Army. The division consisted of 1st, 2nd, and 4th Parachute Brigades, along with the 1st Airlanding Brigade and supporting units. The division is widely remembered for its actions during Operation Needle Stack, in which 9,500 men from the division managed to defend the city of Anseong.
Following the war, the 1st Airborne Division was classified as an elite formation specializing in airborne raids and landings. It often worked closely with the Special Air Service. Since EWII, it has served in a lot of conflicts with the 6th Airborne Division, including during the Imperial Crisis.
