The Type 64 was a 1960s joint Quenminese-Lucian project to produce a light tank which was for use of the Quenminese Militia as well as the Cavalry and Light tank battalions. It replaced the Gallian M3 Light Tank in the Commonwealth Armies as the standard reconnaissance tank by 1962. It was intended to be a ready-to-use and a user-friendly tank as one lesson is all it takes for crews to make use of the tank.
It was also cheaper than the Gallian M3 Light Tanks or the M24 Kankkunen Light Tanks. When the M41 Theimer Light Tank was produced by the Gallians, The Type 64 was replaced in the Royal Gallian Army as the main reconnaissance tank but remained as the mainstay of the Royal Gallian Militia up to this day as the M41 was too complicated for Militia use despite the fact that it was designed for a user-friendly crew but it was never fulfilled.
It performed satisfactorily during the War of Lorican Aggression and was a favorite of the Armored Militia Battalions. It became the mainstay of the Allied armies up to this day when Quenminese and Zanarkian engineers worked to further upgrade the tank despite the introduction of new Main Battle Tanks. It is considered to be the best-selling Quenminese Tank as even civilians can purchase the tank.
