Lemovician National Radio and Television (Lemovician: Mendiko telebiza eta iŕati nazionala) is the state broadcaster for Lemovicia, broadcasting radio and television services in the Lemovician language.
History
With the proclamation of Malomiersa's independence from West Miersa on 21 November, 1979, the Lemovician separatists seized control of the local facilities owned by both Radio Mierska and Telewizja Mierska, which were at the time based at the voivodial capital of Mistózburó. From the start, the stations were placed under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Communications, with the intention of broadcasting in the Lemovician language.
Although it was largely controlled by the Lemovician Section of the Workers' International, and thus promoted socialist ideals, the radio and television services were able to promote the development of Lemovician culture, even throughout the Lemovician War. During the Lemovician War, television broadcasting was erratic and irregular, although it was usually for five hours, and generally between 07:00-21:00, while radio broadcasts continued 24/7.
Following the end of the Lemovician War in 1992, broadcasting hours expanded dramatically, with a consistent and regular television schedule lasting from 05:00 and 01:30, which continues to this day. In 1997, an online portal appeared for MITN to establish its online presence.
In 2004, MITN began digital transmissions, using TBD, with plans to replace the Soravian TBD that had been inherited from West Miersa with that new standard, with analogue broadcasts ceasing in 2008.
