Template:Yuán Xiānniàn sidebar Normalisation (Xiaodongese: 正规化; Zhèngguī huà) refers to the ongoing state of emergency in Xiaodong, which has resulted in a widespread purge of political and civic institutions and a reassertion of dictatorial power from the Xiaodong Regeneration Society.

Normalisation was launched in response to the 2017 Xiaodongese Protests which saw over a million people protest against electoral fraud during the 2017 general election. It was also started due to a long running power struggle between Jiang Zhongyu and Yuan Xiannian within the Xiaodongese government.

The Xiaodongese government under Yuan Xiannian and Xi Yao-tong fearing the protests were stoked by pro-Jiang and pro-Senrian elements to oust the Xiaodongese government ordered the Xiaodongese Defence Force and Shujichu to suppress the protesters and impose a state of emergency over Xiaodong. Since than, the government has either banned opposition groups (such as the Alliance for Democracy in Xiaodong) or repressed their activities and arrested their members (such as the United Democratic Appeal for Xiaodong). It also linked pro-Jiang elements of the government with the Yundong spiritual movement and subsequently began a wave of political purges.

By March 2017, 1,500 people had been executed by the regime, 30,000 arrested and 80,000 either suspended or removed from their jobs.
