Sónia Moura (born 30 December 1972) is a Gylian clothesmaker and jeweler. She is the founder and lead designer of the eponymous Sónia Moura SA. She is famous for her minimalist and sexually-charged clothing designs.
Early life
Sónia was born on 30 December 1972 in Vilêna. She is the daughter of a neuroscientist and a biologist, and the oldest of four siblings. She is mainly of Lusitan descent, with some French, Ruvelkan, and Mansuri descent from her mother.
She studied acting, but ultimately accepted an apprenticeship in the clothing industry, working for a time as an assistant designer.
Career
Sónia founded Sónia Moura SA in 1996, naming it at the suggestion of a friend who joked that her name already sounded like a luxury brand. The company steadily grew in popularity, and later established a jewelry division as well.
Sónia describes her design philosophy as "minimum effort, maximum comfort". She is known for her minimalist designs, generally focused on simple outfits with wrap-and-tie dynamics, avoiding acccessories such as buttons. She frequently works with bright colours such as white and has jokingly described the sensual nature of her designs as "halfway between leaving nothing to the imagination and leaving everything to the imagination".
Private life
Sónia is one of Gylias' most successful and richest contemporary clothesmakers, with an estimated net worth of Ŧ10 billion. She is a participant in the Social Partnership Program.
She resides in Vilêna, and is married with two children.
She is mainly a practitioner of Concordianism. She is a vegetarian and a marine life activist, who has been politically active with the Animal Protection Party.
