Isthmeia (from Occidental Aroman: ἰσθμός isthmos "neck"), officially called the Republic of Isthmeia, is a Central Europan nation on Eurth. Headed by the President of Isthmeia, Éktoras Lýkos (Hector Lopez), the nation's capital and largest city is $City. Ostensibly a democratic republic, Isthmeia is strongly influenced by nearby Tagmatium, with a heavy military presence in its northwestern border area.
(Based on the similarly named nation in the James Bond universe.[1])
Etymology
The nation derives its name from the geographical term 'Isthmos', describing a strip of land that connects two larger bodies of land, while separating two large water bodies.

The Republic of Isthmeia is located between the Occidental subcontinent and Amutian desert in Europa on Eurth.
History
In 2020 the nation went through a bloodless coup. A dissident faction led by Captain Símon Kókkino (Simon Rojas), comprised of a cadre of police officers had been initially trained in Tagmatium and four senior military officers. They are hopeful for a peaceful end to corruption. President Éktoras Lýkos (Hector Lopez) resigned, and most of his government with him. The dissidents take over responsibility for governing Isthmeia and hold an inquiry into Ierótita’s demise, and other matters.
Politics
Ostensibly governed by the Isthmeian Revolutionary Party (Spanish: Partido Revolucionario Isthmo; Greek: Epanastatikó Kómma Isthmoú), under President Éktoras Lýkos (Hector Lopez), the country was heavily corrupt; influenced by Frants Ierótita' (Franz Sanchez) drug cartel. Ierótita's policy of "plata o plomo" (literally "silver or lead", colloquially "[accept] money or [face] bullets"), in addition to the bribery of countless government officials, police, and politicians, ensured that Isthmeia would be a secure base of operations. During the height of its operations, the Ierótita Cartel's main distribution centre was located in Isthmeia; the centre of an invisible cocaine empire, stretching from Cabarria to Adaptus.
Economy
Isthmeia's capital city is polarised between those in extreme poverty and the very wealthy; with high levels of unemployment. Notable locations in Isthmeia include its largest bank, the Banco de Isthmeia, the Casino de Isthmeia (both owned and operated by Ierótita), the El Presidente' Hotel, Olympatec Meditation Institute, and the Paso del Diablo. The city is served by Isthmus City International Airport.
