Arata is a province located in northcentral Adamantina. It is the 17th-largest by area and the 9th-most populous province within the republic. Its capital and largest city is Casanova, with a population of 284,092. Arata was admitted to the Republic of Adamantina as the 4th province on March 11 1808, and was among the original provinces of the United Provinces of Asterias Inferior. It is bordered by the East Arucian Sea to the north, Federal District Pellegrini to the northeast, Venosa to the southeast and Castello to the southwest. The province has a population of approximately 1,981,938, representing 5.9% of Adamantina's total population, and covers an area of 6,756 km2 (2,609 sq mi) which is roughly 0.67% of Adamantina's total area.
Various indigenous peoples inhabited Arata for thousands of years, most of whom were expelled by settlers of Etruria between 1541 and 1723. Arata received its name from the common plow which was utilized extensively on the province's fertile plains during the early days of colonization. Since then, the settlement patterns in Arata have reflected regional cultural segmentation present in northcentral Adamantina; the province's northernmost tier was settled primarily by people from Carinthia, central Arata by migrants from Veratia and Torrazza and southern Arata by settlers from Carvagna and Novalia.
Arata has a diverse economy with a gross provincial product of $44.3 billion in 2020 and is a major exporter of soybeans, natural gas and wheat. It has several metropolitan areas with more than 100,000 citizens and a number of smaller cities and towns. Arata's most important cities are Ronchi (population 120,189), San Crescentino (population 110,495), Chiaserna (population 109,385), and Filottrano (population 101,0385). Arata is home to several professional sports teams, including the Casanova Broncos, Ronchi Battitori, and Casanova Benzina.
