History of Jews in Astyria

The Jewish population of Astyria is believed to have entered the region at different times throughout history, with the vast majority of Jewish Astyrians tracing their roots back to a Jewish influx from Europe during the late medieval and Rennaissance period. Most Jewish people entered the region through Heideland or Hesperidesia, where the merchant classes and government officials sought their banking and financial abilities.

By the mid-1600's, a new Jewish diaspora began, as persecutions against the Jewish populations in these early settlement centers began to ramp up, forcing the population to seek refuge elsewhere. At that point, many Jews began to settle in nations such as Nikolia, Hindia Belanda, and elsewhere.

By the close of the 19th century, as rivalry between Exponent and Riysa began to heat up over influence in the area of Harel, a new Jewish homeland in Astyria was created when Exponent deported a large portion of its Jewish population to the area. By the end of the Great Astyrian War, Harel made the decision to completely break away from Riysian control, additional nations began sending their Jewish population to the area.
