The Vrede Airlines Flight 340 Incident occurred on January 3rd, 2009 and involved a Airbus A319

Accident

Vrede Airlines Flight 340 lifted from runway 34R at 04:21 UTC and was going its typical route, at 04:47 UTC, transmission and tracking mysteriously ceased operation, which led for the Gassasinia Air Traffic Control Center to issue an emergency on the plane, later at 04:51 UTC, Pilot Kentman McBride pulled out a gun and shot himself fatally on purpose, causing the plane to begin to loose control, Co-Pilot Ryan Einstein attempted to do an emergency landing but was unable to due to the mountainous region the plane was in, the plane eventually crashed into Mt. Pei, killing everyone on board. Additionally, 3 people were killed while they were hiking on the mountain due to the crash, along with another hiker who survived but was left mostly paralyzed. This is considered one of the most deadliest suicide attacks in the history of Anteria. Following the crash, the paralyzed hiker who survived the crash on ground later released a book called The Goer in 2011, which became one of the most high selling books in Anteria, which then led to a movie based on the book released on 2013 which grossed over 2.1 billion dollars.
