The Ministry of Internal Security is the interior ministry of the Empire Of Makko Oko. It is a cabinet-level agency, and its headquarters are located in the capital city of Opposh. The current Minister of Internal Security is Miguel Kellison, who has held the post since 2022, when the ministry was first incepted.

History

Mission

The Ministry of Internal Security is the largest body in the Makko Okoan Government, and its various component agencies are responsible for a long list of diverse tasks. Broadly, its mission relates to maintaining security and public order within the nation, in order to uphold the stability of the regime. These core duties include riot control, customs and border control, civil defense, counter-terrorism, and search and rescue operations.

The Ministry of Internal Security also contains the empire's intelligence agencies, in which the nation runs a sophisticated domestic surveillance network intended to combat espionage and suppress dissident movements. The Censorship & Intelligence Bureau mainly oversees international surveillance and performs operations such as cyberwarfare. In addition, the CIB does head a branch of the nation's military known as the Emperor's Special Cyber Warfare Commandant, where operations such as cyberattacks are conducted.

In addition to its mission, under defined legislation, the Ministry of Internal Security also manages and administrates the allegiance test along with the public identity system.

The head of the ministry is known as the Minister of Internal Security. In addition to heading the agency itself, the Minister of Internal Security also holds a place in the Executive Cabinet, and is an important advisor to the Emperor. The Emperor is responsible for appointing the Minister of Internal Security, along with all other government positions in the cabinet. There is no limit on how long any person can hold the position, and historically Ministers of Internal Security have served until retirement or dismissal.
