The Committee on Judicial Appointments is a committee of the Law Council that began starting with the 3rd session. The committee is charged with appointing low-level judicial officials and some medium-ranking judicial officials from the administrative courts and the Appellate Court of Appeals. The committee has the power to vote on and recommend high-level judicial appointments to be considered by the Minister of Justice and Monarch. An appointment of a low-level or medium-ranking official can be vetoed at the Monarch's discretion.

Composition

The committee is permanent and is composed of all judges that sit in the Law Council, rather they have voting power or not. All judges have voting authority within the committee. The current Committee Chair is Supreme Court Chief Justice Edgar Gerlach since December 1st, 2023.
