The Narcotics Enforcement Bureau, commonly referred to as the NEB, is a Makkonian domestic law enforcement agency within the Ministry of Internal Security with the exclusive task of combating illicit drug trafficking and distribution. The NEB is the lead agency on enforcing drug laws in the nation, and has the sole responsibility of both coordinating investigations with other agencies and with pursuing them generally. The legislation that incorporated the NEB, the Life Security Act, is also one of the only laws relating to drugs in the nation, and is the primary instrument used for restricting drug access. The NEB has been called corrupt by civil rights experts due to their unchecked authority to restrict any drug that they deem dangerous, without any medical oversight as to the creation of these policies.
