Luis Enrique Gutierrez Pezzella (27 August 1840 – 2 May 1927), also known as Pato Pezzella, was a Trenadian political scientist, writer and politician that served as the country's president twice — from 1889 to 1896, then 1901 to 1908 — also having been a member of the City Council of Porto Alegre from 1879 to 1882. He was the longest-serving president of the country until Roberto Gonzales' seventeen-year administration, being widely regarded as one of the most influential figures of the First Trenadian Republic due to his administration's socioeconomic progress and strong emphasis on populism and political balance.
