The ratfolk are the native subterrean race of the Seibalath, created artificially in around 4,000 TR from rats spliced with human genes. They are a short beast-race with an omnivorous diet, likened to many other rodents. Their culture is highly individualistic, preferring personal achievement over collective good, reflecting it into their squalor environment. Pollutants and toxic chemicals like lead, carbon monoxide , etc do little damage to their body system. They are able to live in extremely polluted environments without the need of filtration. Natural diseases hardly cripple their function at all, save for severe cases. Their traits are similar to Felics, though are light-averse and colorblind due to their subterrean origin.

The Beastmen are a group of races that inhabit Seibalath. Their geneology contains DNA from both orders of Primates and other mammalians, although predominantly identical to human beings. They are characterized by their animal-like ears placed on-top of their head, and mannerisms befitting their aligned species.

Origin

It is unknown where the Beastmen have originated. Their presence dates back to the Lethariil Empire era in 10,390 TR from slave ships, similar to the origin of the other races in Eleutheria.

Appearances

Beastmen look identical to humans save for their animal-like ears placed on-top of their heads.

Attributes

Canics

The Canics are the wolfmen of the Seibalath. They are descended from a strange type of humanoid wolves that evolved alongside the other species. They are considered to be generally stronger than regular humans, although not to the point of a male Hudyar. Sharing traits to other canines, they have sharp teeth, low-light vision, enhanced hearing and smelling and are facultative carnivores. They although also share the grievances that occur with their forefathers being repulsed by strong smells, loud noises, extremely bright light, and the inability to subsist on a plant-dominated diet. The Canics are largely dominated by their innumerable instincts as well, requiring expert help or medication to control it. They are capable of both bipedal and quadrupedal movement, and are generally agile. Canics wear out their muscles faster, lacking the endurance of humans.

Felics

Felics are the cat people of the Seibalath. They parallel the Canic's evolutionary lines, although are somewhat different than them. They are weaker in strength compared with humans, being unable to carry large weights or doing endurance tasks. They also share many of the enhanced traits of the Canics, although having long dulled them in their evolutionary course to the point of it being just slightly above humans. They have excellent night vision and live as facultative carnivores due to their predatory lineage.

Unlike Canics they fit in universally with any sorts of societies, taking upon their culture and mannerisms as easily as a glove. They do not possess their overactive instincts, save for the impulse to hunt smaller creatures. Their height measures up to the average of five feet and five inches tall being somewhat small. They have functionally lighter bones as well, making any blunt force dangerous. Felics although do have excellent agility, dexterity, and perception, able to leap up to twice their height, recover from falls easily, and are much quite faster.

Ratfolk
