Alexandria-Prussia Department of Environmental Resources (DER) was a department in HM Central Government and was charged with the responsibility of protecting and preserving the land, air, water, and public health through enforcement of the central governments environmental laws. The department was also tasked with developing and implementing national policy, programs and legislation to protect and conserve Alexandria-Prussia environmental heritage as well as preserving all national parks and national forests. The department also provided information on the country’s natural resources; and working with communities to benefit local recreation and natural areas.

The Department was formed as a result Clean Water Protection Act of 1975 which effectively abolished and merged Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and Department of Mines and Mineral Industries.

In 2019 after years of mismanagement from prior administrations and numerous controversies, the Environmental Reorganization Act of 2019 effectively split the Department of Environmental Resources into the Department of Environmental Protection and the Department of Forests, Parks and Wildlife. The final Secretary of Environmental Resources was Stephen J. D'Agostino.
