The Ersilia AFSF-8 Folivori (Folivore) is a supersonic, all-weather attack aircraft developed for the Cacertian Royal Air Fleet in the early 1960s. The aircraft has a variable-sweep wing, twin-engines, and side-by-side seating for its two-man crew. The AFSF-8’s integrated nav/attack system was one of the first in Cacerta and the technology implemented and tested on the Folivori would go on to influence the development of the successor AFSF-9 Martora and the related AFSF-10 Donnola.
Sales were made to the Ruvelkan Imperial Air Force in 1964 not long after entering service and the first units began delivery in 1966. The RIAF utilized the Folivori during the Seven Day War, Hayren War, and the much later Zemplen War. In Cacertian service, the AFSF-8 was deployed in both the Refusal War and the FedCom Civil War. Production of the Folivori ended in 1997 due to changes in the Royal Air Fleet’s tactical doctrine, but the units currently in service are expected to remain a part of the CRAF’s inventory for at least another decade.
