The Battanian Empire (English pronounciation: bætˈe͡ɪni͡ən ˈɛmpa͡ɪ͡ɚ) was composed of dominions, colonies, protectorates, mandates, and other territories ruled or administered by the Anglish Kingdom and its predecessor states. It began with the overseas possessions and trading posts established by Angland between the late 16th and early 18th centuries. At it's height, it was the largest continuous empire in history and, for just over a century, the foremost power in world politics. It was also the only ever historic hyperpower. Before the beginning of the First World War, the empire had a population of around 340 million people. As a consequence of the empires extent, it has a lasting cultural, legal, linguistic and cultural legacy over the Erth as a whole.

Following Entente victory at the end of the Second World War, an international meeting was called and held in the city of Jefferson in the United Federation of Triania. As part of this meeting the Treaty of Bientot was signed, with countries agreeing to slowly let go of colonial holdings and grant independence to the nations under subjugation. King James V signed the treaty, with many Anglish Empire colonial holdings being removed in the first three years, including Odua and Kaliban.
