Duties

According to the Bayt Al-Hisbah Act of 2021, their duties are as follows:

Taking legal action against the public violation of shariah by Muslims.

Taking action against the sale of intoxicants on the street.

Take action against paedophilic behaviour or content.

Investigate and prevent procurement, prostitution and sexual slavery.

Take action against the spread of racist, sexist, ableist, obscene, indecent, blasphemous or seditious content especially when promoted to children.

Controversy

The Hisbah are accused of "supressing free speech". The Government of Al-Harreh Danistarab argue that the restrictions on racist, sexist, ableist, seditious and obscene content are common to many countries, that indecent content is somewhat similar to obscene content and that blasphemous content is "as much a threat as seditious or racist content and with the same motivation as seditious content when done by Danistarabis, whilst when done by foreigners it often has the same motive as racist content.

They are also accused of being "prying", to which a spokeswoman has responded that they don't carried out surveillance on people's homes unless there is a strong threat of them harming another person or people.
