The Biele (sg: Biel) are a Ludic Ethnic group from southern Drevstran, more specifically from the area known as the Klastory mountains. Speakers of an Ostro-Ludzic dialect, they distinguish themselves from the neighboring Ludz by their historical attachement to Emendatic Nazarism and isolated lifestyle. During the Ikonkivoyra and the Commonwealth Eras, their numbers and territories dwindled through process of exclusion and persecution, notably because of their nature as "Heretics".
In modern days, there is less than 300,000 native Biely-speakers worldwide which was overshadowed through the 19th and 20th century by Ludzic and Lush, the lingua franca of Drevstran. However, there is an additional 2 million individuals proclaiming themselves "of Biely ancestry" who either learned Biel in their adulthood or do not speak Biel at all but are not included in official census as they only record those people who speak Biel as their first language. In the modern day there are a greater number of ethnic Biele native speakers of Nahuatl than there are Biely speakers, thanks to the large Biele community in Zacapican.
Ludz who have converted to Emendatic Nazarism are often referred to as Falobiele, or "Fake Biele". A term mostly avoided in modern scholastic works, as it is now considered to be pejorative in nature.
Because of their poor economic conditions and lack of recognition, many Biele emmigrated from their homeland during the 19th and 20th centuries and emigrated communities can be found in countries such as Zacapican and Ostrozava. In the latter case, religious, cultural, and linguistic similarities have led to an higher integration rate into the Ostrozavan majority, although a distinct accent has developed in Levigorsk from the large Biele-descended community living there.
