The Church of Gelonia (Gelonian: Iliz Gaelonia) is the national church of Gelonia. It was founded in 1948 by King Alan V and the Bodadeg after Gelonian War of Independence, splitting from the United Reformed Communion. It is a Calvinist Presbyterian church with over 3 million claimed adherents, though only 1,000,000 registered members. The Church of Gelonia recognizes the sacraments of baptism, and Communion, along with the rites of confirmation and matrimony.
The Church of Gelonia is officially led by the Monarch of Gelona, though is not involved in governance of the faith. As a Presbyterian body, the Church of Gelonia has no bishops and is governed by elders and ministers that sit on councils and courts. The supreme governing body for the church is the Grand Assembly, with the Chief Presbyter representing the Monarch at official assembly functions.
