The Empire of Zhenia (Zhenian: 대동진제국, literally translated as "Empire of Great Zhenia"), was a historical nation-state and empire that existed as the direct predecessor to modern-day Zhenia, from June 4, 1868 until the Declaration of Union in 1909. Spanning over 41 years, it saw two emperors during its rule - Emperors Seongjo and Saejo.

It was founded on June 4, 1868, shortly after the end of the Zhenian Civil War, when the remaining states and warlords in the mainland submitted to the Empire of Shindan and accepted Shindanese rule over its domain, introducing the title of Emperor of Zhenia to Emperor Seongjo, then-Emperor of Shindan and Khagan of the Yemeg and Balakhaat People, for the first time since the fall of the Zhen dynasty. Daedo became the capital of the Empire as a whole, while the Government of Shindan would assume complete control over foreign and military affairs from Sanggyeong until it too completely relocated to Daedo in 1871.
