The Founagé Dominion of Heaven was a Bahian Razzia state based in the Fersi desert and Boual ka Bifie, in modern day Mabifia. It was founded during a series of Irfanic holy wars and razzias at the start of the 900s and represented the first of a series of Irfanic states which would raid Inner Bahia, triggering the Bahian Consolidation and permanently changing the societal structure of Bahia.
Origins
While Irfan had been present among the Ndjarendie since the beginning of the common era, it was concentrated among the Sares where trade with the First Dominion of Heaven was most present. During the 800s, Irfanic missionaries began to preach to the pastoralist Ndjarendie clans, resulting in several clans adopting the religion.
Around 850 CE, Fakruddin Bâ was born within the Bâ Bolonda, receiving religious education from a young age. According to the Tarikh-e Māhruyān-e Siyahstan, a hagiographic collection of tales of Irfanic saints in Bahia, Bâ was blessed with prophetic dreams which from a young age had meant he knew he would lead to a new dawn for the faith in Bahia. The faith's emphasis on a community of believers was a key inspiration for Bâ, who in 898 CE would convene a council of prominent Irfanic clergy among the Ndjarendie and organise the formation of a Razzia state.
The Founagé Dominion of Heaven was thus formed, with Bâ chosen as its Asardaki. It quickly began offensives against fetishist sares, starting with those present upon the Boual ka Bifie before moving further south. The fetishist city-states possessed small armies and were unable to resist the might of the united Ndjarendie bolondas. Founagé was able to unite the majority of the Boual ka Bifie under its rule by the death of Fakruddin Bâ.
Structure
The Founagé Dominion of Heaven was structured as a tribal federation organised along similar lines to those which would define the Houregic system where the leaders and Ulama of the different clans swore their loyalty to a hereditary leader. He took the title of Asardaki, a Ndjarendie rendition of the Pardarian Sardar-ye Etadaqdaran Commander of the Faithful). The Asardaki was based within the town of Founagé, a medium sized Sare centred on an oasis in the Boual ka Bifie.
Zenith
At its height, the Founagé Dominion of Heaven dominated much of the central Boual ka Bifie and launched numerous raids upon the fetishist Sares of inner Bahia. As the first Razzia state, Founagé represented a centre of trade and religious scholarship. It held a large number of slaves taken during its raids, who were a key part of the state's economy and army. Founagé also established ties with the Xieme Dominion of Heaven, strengthening its prestige.
Decline
Despite its early successes, the Bahian Consolidation marked the beginning of the end for the Founagé Dominion of Heaven. Fetishist states who feared Irfani subjugation established their own houragic structures. Unable to replicate the successes of its earlier raids, Founagé was defeated at Kaanmaabe by the armies of Koyizo Nzorfu in the first of a series of defeats. While the federation was able to survive following the Bahian consolidation, it began to decline as rivals began to strike back and assert their authority. In 970, Founagé were defeated by a Mirite state in the Farkí valley. This defeat marked the start of the final decline, with Founagé losing several key allies. At the start of the 1000s, Founagé itself was conquered by another Razzia state, the Kangesare Dominion of Heaven.
