Francis Madhoko (15 April 1918) is a retired Rhodeian officer and veteran who served during the Second Europan War and in the War of Lorican Aggression. He is also the first Black Rhodeian military serviceman in history to reach the rank of Brigadier.
Growing up in the time when Africans were often discriminated in Lucis Rhodeia, Madhoko's family was among those we faced prejudices. However, the young Francis became determined to fight for the rights of Black Rhodeians. Despite the violence that took place, Francis remained unfazed and was able to attend college, albeit segregated. It was not until in 1935 when the government implemented the Humanity Acts of 1935 that granted equal rights to African Rhodeians. At about the same year, the Second Europan War erupted. Francis enlisted in the army and became recognised for his commanding nature. As a result, he was able to obtain an officer rank earlier than his peers. By 1940, Francis became a Captain and was one of the most recognised Black Rhodeian officers in the army. At the same year, he married his college sweetheart, Mika Asante
Later on, he served in the Special Air Service and became a part of Torch Company. Following the war, Francis would gain more commissions and by 1964, he was promoted to the rank of Brigadier. He retired in 1975 following the end of the War of Lorican Aggression.
He is the grandfather of ILESOC operative Maynard Madhoko.
