Lieutenant-General Sir. Hikaru Komaki KG, GCB, CLE, ONA (6 June 1901 - 22 August 2012) was a New Akibander soldier, officer and librarian who fought during the Second Europan War. He is best known for his role during the Third Joyonghean-Quenminese War, as part of the Second Europan War where he was the overall commander of the New Akiba Joyonghea Expeditionary Force until its dissolution in 1945. He continued his military career as Commander of the Royal New Akiba Defence Guards during the War of Lorican Aggression. As with his successor's experience, New Akiba was never able to be invaded thanks to a strong military build-up influenced by Komaki himself. He subsequently retired from army life in 1960 and became involved in book keeping, opening one of Aoraki's biggest accounting firms, He later opened the Aoraki National Library and Archives, which would then become to be the biggest library in the South Island of New Akiba.
Komaki served as a commissioned officer during the later stages of the First Europan War. It was in this conflict that Komaki was decorated with the Georgius Cross. Unlike many officers of his time, he preferred being in the thick of the action. His superiors were impressed by his ability to go through under fire and return unharmed. He later served as a field commander for the 88th New Akiba Brigade, as one of New Akiba's volunteer formations during the Estharian Civil War. During the Second Europan War, he gained seniority and commanded the 8th New Akiba Division during the East Africanna Campaign, where he fought alongside Zanarkian General Edward Samegawa under then-General Archibald Sugiyama. In 1940, he was given the command of the New Akiba Expeditionary Force to Joyonghea as part of the Allied aid to Joyonghea. His corps was folded under the 5th ZIF, taking along with him the 8th New Akiba Division.
He earned many distinctions in the conflict, with his corps being one of the most important Allied formations during the Third Joyonghean-Quenminese War. His colleagues have praised him for possessing a calm demeanour when battlefield situations don't favour him, as well as his ability to pull his formations out in certain situation and turn the tide of the battle in favour of the Allies. Komaki also prevented the incursion of Lorican Communists into Joyonghea during the end of the war. Throughout his career, he earned the moniker of General Under Fire for his ability to go through heavy skirmishes and get out unscathed.
