The House of Reich is the reigning royal house of Aquitayne. It is descended from the House of Menius branch, who ruled Aquitayne before the Empire of Exponent took over the country in 1563 after House Kon'rei overthrew the reigning monarch, Decius I. The House of Reich regained the throne in 1741 after they achieved victory during the Aquitaynian War of Independence. Their rule was codified in the Constitution of Aquitayne, and have been seated on the throne ever since. There have been some attempts to regain the throne from other royal households, though none have been successful.
The House of Reich traces its lineage back through the ages to the ancient Merovian Empire, and claims they are the direct descendants of the House of Merova, a royal line of Emperors stretching back over a thousand years.
