The Aquitaynian Air Force (Vik'Rus: Arme us Ahr, Arme us Ahr as Majeiste) is the aerospace branch of the Aquitaynian Armed Services, responsible for the protection of the airspace in and around Aquitaynian territories. The Air Force's roots can be traced back to a small, underfunded expenditure in the midst of a large increase in airplane manufacturing internationally, which Joseph Goering saw as a potentially militaristic venture. Many of the pilots receive domestic training, although for more advanced courses Aquitayne does export its pilots internationally to garner the best product possible. Alongside the Aquitaynian Army and the Aquitaynian Navy, it makes up the third and final branch of the Aquitaynian Armed Forces. It is currently the smallest of the three branches, employing about 87,000 personnel, and retains the highest minimum requirement score on the ASVAB test for military acceptance.

Early History

Battle of Helm

Invasion of Pangus

Main Article: 2013 Invasion of Pangus

Aquitaynian Air Force officers have been actively supporting Operation Northern Star in Insula Fera alongside their Symphonian counterparts. These support operations range from logistics to active engagement of hostile forces and weapon caches, which have severely damaged the Heraldan ability to fight against United Kingdom troops. The Air Force have not lost any aircraft during the operation, save for an M.Cs Illusion aircraft which crashed due to mechanical failures rather than having been engaged by hostile forces. Currently, the Colonial Command's 8th Wing is the only wing operating within the United Kingdom Seclusion Zone, alongside Naval assets being flown off of the HMS Orion.

It is rumored that, in support of the seclusion zone, the Aquitaynian Air Force will be purchasing commercial jets to ferry servicemen from Metropolitan Aquitayne to Insula Fera, though these reports' accuracy is not fully known.
