Roa Ďaþi (born 15 December 1960), better known as Jeanette Moitessier (Gylic transcription: Janet Muátesié), is a Gylian businesswoman and media personality. She is the founder of The Pump, one of Gylias' most renowned nightclubs.
Early life
Roa Ďaþi was born on 15 December 1960 in Landráy. She is an only child. Her parents were an elevator attendant and a professional wet nurse.
She developed a love of French culture in youth, and decided to embrace a French identity aged 16, adopting the name "Jeanette Moitessier".
After completing college, she studied at the Open University, gaining a degree in anthropology.
During the 1980s, she lived in various Gylian cities and took various jobs, including as an elevator attendant and photographic model. She drifted into the cultural industry, and from there towards nightlife.
Career
Jeanette founded The Pump in 1988. She chose the location in Voáron (Voiron), a majority French ecovillage in Tomes within 20 minutes' distance of Kaşa.
She ambitiously envisioned The Pump as a superclub. The venue was extensively soundproofed and included gauchic décor inspired by psychedelia and Art Deco, video screens, a large stage and dance floor, a chill-out lounge, a dedicated sex room, and later a community swimming pool.
Jeanette's policy of serving human breast milk gained exposure for the club. She paid volunteers to donate it, as well as donating her own. Together with the use of breast milk, she implemented a stringent dress code, requiring clientele to wear black tie or similar clothing. The dress code, and her strict but creative interpretation of it, helped give The Pump an elegant and sybaritic atmosphere.
The Pump became one of Gylias' most successful and famous nightclubs in the 1990s, rivalling The Haçienda. It was particularly associated with dance-rock and Neo-Gylian Sound, and became a favourite hangout for Readymade Records acts. Jeanette became one of Gylias' prominent nightclub managers.
Other ventures
Jeanette is one of Gylias' richest businesswomen, with an estimated net worth of Ŧ1 billion. She is a participant in the Social Partnership Program and has donated extensively to philanthropic endeavours and charities.
Jeanette built on the success of The Pump by becoming a media personality and expanding into other ventures, including collaborating with musical acts and film production. She is close friends with Marie-Agnès Delaunay, Catherine Baudelaire, and Frauke Stark.
She is a member of OMFLG and ACFEN, a supporter of the francité movement, and a high-profile supporter of the People's Party for a Flourishing Nightlife.
