The People's Party for a Flourishing Nightlife (French reformed: Parti populaire pour un vie nocturne florissante), abbreviated PPFN (PPVNF), is a Gylian political party, part of the Non-inscrits bloc.

Established in 1996, it is a demopolitan single-issue party that champions nightlife.

History

The PPFN was founded in 1996, as a political outgrowth of various pro-nightlife organisations that had emerged at the local level. The main impetus was the passage of the Law on Night Sky Protection of 1995, which produced concern that its improper application would destroy Gylias' nightlife.

It quickly established itself as a significant party at the local level, only entering the Chamber of Deputies in the 2000 federal election.

The party benefited significantly from its association with the Neo-Gylian Sound scene, and Readymade Records in particular. Some of Readymade's "new generation" of vocalists launched notably successful careers with the PPFN — Rin Maeda being elected Governor of Nauras, and the Vũ sisters becoming Mayors of Tomes' "twin cities", Ðoron and Kaşa.

It supported the Toni Vallas government in the 2010s.

Ideology

The PPFN is a demopolitan party focused on nightlife issues. Main policies include opposition to restrictive closing hours, supporting locally-owned venues and nightclubs, protecting urban culture, and developing organic policies to reduce noise levels and other disturbances.

One of the PPFN's notable achievements has been creating ediles with responsibility for nightlife issues. Commonly nicknamed "night mayors" (maires d'nuit), these positions have become standard in Gylian cities and begun to see adoption abroad.

The PPFN's campaign literature tends to de-emphasise the economic aspects of nightlife in favour of stressing the cultural and local pride aspects of ensuring a vibrant nightlife.

It has notably close relations with its modern sister party the Urban Movement, the Green Party, LSD Party, Love, Nature, Democracy, and Pirate Party.

Symbols

The PPFN uses a shade of blue it terms "midnight blue" as its official colour.

Popular support

The PPFN's support is concentrated in urban areas. It is one of the largest parties in municipal elections, especially in urban municipalities, serving as a sister party of the UM.

Since its founding, several mayors have been elected either as PPFN candidates or independents supported by the PPFN.
