The growing city is home to some 7.8 million souls, and is coming into its own. It is one of the most important cities in ViZion's State of Astyria, being a major tourist and business center. The massive city is an hours drive from the beach and sits along a river and several lakes. The business district is home to several multinational corporations, including Astyria Corporation's global headquarters and Vivaj Mobile.

The Kirkland Culture is a vibrant, easily described as active and exciting. Swim the lakes, go rafting in the rivers, see one of the cities sports teams all year around. And the nightlife is second to none in the city known as the City of Astyria. Thousands of restaurants, bars, clubs, and event locations through the city encourage locals and tourists alike to come out and enjoy the sights, sounds, and action.
The ViZionarian Gamers - the national baseball team of ViZion which has represented the country in the World Baseball Classic - practices her. Meanwhile, you can catch the Kirkland Frontiers soccer team, Kirkland Icelanders ice hockey team, the 2017 American football champion Kirkland Vipers, one of two Kirkland baseball teams - the Lions and the Stampedes - and the basketball team, the Kirkland Raiders. The city is also expected to get an expansion rugby team in the next two years as well.

Kirkland International Airport (KIR) is one of the region's largest and most important airline hubs. A central airport for regional business and tourist travelers alike, KIR handles thousands of flights and tens of thousands of passengers daily. The boom is comparable to what Vitalita had seen over the previous two decades, and many analysts see this city eventually threatening Vitalita as the nation's leading business epicenter.
