Kota, officially the State of Kota, is a nation in northern America. It is bordered by Kon to the west, Forna to the southwest, Gatula to the southeast, Torio to the far northeast, and Tora to the northeast. It has a coast with the Jeness Passage to the north.

Kota ranks high for civil liberties and political freedom. Kota has always sought to maintain protection of civil liberties and democracy. Free speech and thought are core principles of Kota that are the base for Kotan society and culture. Kota is also known for its high rate of social and governmental equality, practically unrivalled in the world save for Lionoll.

Kota mainly produces wooden products ranging from boards to elaborate furniture. Kota essentially owns a monopoly in wooden handicraft and exports mostly to Asia. Trade relations among Kota and American nations is virtually non-existent, likely due to the lack of product demand and conflicting ideology. Other than wood, Kota produces stone handicrafts, however this market is considerably smaller.

Etymology

Kota is derived from either Dakota or Lakota, both of which refer to the Sioux. Dakota means ally in Kotan while Lakota has unknown origin.
