Kouralian Kætſya

Jump to navigation Jump to search

The Kyneskætſya Skætes (Symbol: Ꞣ, Currency Code: KKY), known in most contexts simply as the Kætſya or Defender, is the official currency of the Crown Union of Kouralia. The currency is subdivided into 100 Skyllynes, though the smallest coin in current issue is the 5 Skyllynn piece.

Etymology

The full name Kyneskætſya Skætt (pl. Kyneskætſya Skætes) translates into Mystrian Common as Crownshield Coin. The shortened High Kouralian term of Kætſya literally means Shield, but in modern usage has come to mean 'a person or thing that protects/defends' thereby giving the currency its Common name of Defender.
