Lula Justino Sousa (born 4 February 2001), also known as L U L A and Lula, is a Paretian-Caldish singer and actor. He was born in Paretia and lived there until he was six years old, when he moved with his mother to Fedamore, County Bouladuff.
He was a contestant on the 2015 season of Sea! Fachtóir, broadcast on Cainéal 10. After appearing on the show, he continued performing while attending school. In 2017, he joined boyband Conas Tá Tú!, popularly known as CTT!. He was a member of the group until 2020 when it disbanded. The group achieved popularity in Caldia, Scovern, and Hennehouwe. Together, they participated in CAN 2019. The group made it to the final, but lost out to Áine Nic Dubhglas who went on to perform at Euclovision that year.
Starting in 2020, L U L A launched his solo career. He has stood out and won positive reviews for his blending of Luzelese, Ghaillish, and Gaullican. He has collaborated with a number of Ghallish artists, featuring them on his songs. He participated in CAN 2021. While he failed to make it into the semi-finals, the song he participated with, "Symphonie" became his first solo top 20 hit in Caldia.
In January 2022, TRN announced that L U L A would participate in CAN 2022 with the song "A mesa".
In addition to his music career, L U L A began acting. He played Paco in the 2021 TRN series Mondes à part. It was his debut acting role and the shows popularity drew him an international audience, which has benefited his music career. L U L A's ability to speak and perform in three languages has allowed him to stand out, making him attractive to producers and casting directors. Despite reports that he was offered additional acting roles, L U L A has said that he wants to focus on his music for the time being. He will continue to portray Paco in season 2 of Mondes à part, set to release in 2023.
