Marcus Sommerson Jr. (born December 2, 1985) is a Zamastanian politician who currently serves as the Governor of Landeda since 2018 as a member of the Blue Conservative Party. When he was elected in 2018 at the age of 32, he was the youngest governor in the province's history and the youngest serving governor in the country. As governor, Sommerson Jr. has expanded permits for businesses, cut environmental regulations, encouraged increased oil production, and opposed ZamCare expansion. In July 2020, he signed a bill banning local police departments from enforcing federal gun legislation, which was later ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court who overturned the bill. In March 2022, Sommerson Jr. oversaw the province's response to Hurricane Jude.
