The Order of the Golden Lance, often colloquially referred to as the Golden Lances, are a Invictist paramilitary and terrorist organization operating in the Federation of Ottonian Republics and the United Kingdom of Ottonia. The group seeks the reunification of Ottonia under an conservative, Honorian, corporatist monarchy. In the wake of the South Ottonian Revolution, the Golden Lances have seen a recruitment boost from those loyal to the fallen monarchist regime on the mainland, and the group under the leadership of "Bertholdt" is conducting an insurgency against the governments of the five southern republics and the federal government.

The group has its origins as one of the paramilitary secret societies that organized and rose up against the Ottonian Federation during the Ottonian Civil War in 1917 on the side of the Royalist Alliance. Although its size and influence have waxed and waned over the years, the group saw its arguable peak under the Chancellorship of Karlus Klaussunn in the 1940's and 1950's, before waning during the relative prosperity of the 1960's through the 1980's. It had experienced a resurgence since the mid-1990's as internal disorder grew in South Ottonia due to socioeconomic inequality, and during the 2010's increasingly found its ranks swelled by disaffected reactionary youths and given semi-official sanction by many state security forces.

As a result, the Golden Lances were the single largest pro-government militia to act against the South Ottonian Revolution, attempting to violently suppress Popular Front forces along side police, Army, and other state security elements. The Golden Lances were well-known for their brutality against revolutionaries during these confrontations, which resulted in OGL members being disproportionately targeted for harsh, often lethal reprisals by Popular Front (and, allegedly, OFDS) forces. Still, with the collapse of the South Ottonian regime on the mainland, most members of the Order either went into hiding or fled to Draakur. Due to the way the South Ottonian Revolution ended, it is unclear how many of its pre-Revolution claimed membership of 50,000 (itself a matter of dispute) remain under arms, in Draakur or on the mainland. What is clear is that some one the mainland have continued the fight, launching attacks against Federal forces and government buildings, as well as civilians known to have supported the Revolution.
