Palace of Westminster (Averius)
History
Pre-Empire
The Palace of Westminster was built around 200 BIE. During this time, a human parliament and the human monarch took up residence in the palace. The building was damaged during the Great War.
Feudal Era
During the Feudal Era of the Empire, this palace was used by the Vale Parliament and residence of the King of the Vale. In 400 IE, the King of the Vale moved residences to another palace.
Modern Era
After the guilds were disbanded and the nobility lost their fiefdoms, the Palace of Westminster was relegated to a rarely used diplomatic building and museum, until the Third Empire was declared. Now, the building is used as the capital building for the Vale Region, housing all three branches of the regional government.
Exterior
Victory Tower
Victoria Tower is a large 100 m tall tower used as the main entrance for the palace. Above the entrance is the Vale Archives, containing archives regarding the governance and laws governing the Vale since 660 IE.
Westminster Tower
More formally known as Clock Tower, this tower has a large mechanical clock on all four faces of the tower. The tower got its nickname 'Westminster Tower' because this tower is the one most associated with the Palace of Westminster.
Central Tower
Central Tower is a large tower used over the Central Lobby as a decorative means of ventilation of the palace. The purpose of ventilation failed, but the tower was kept due to its aesthetically desirable appearance.
Interior
Robing Room
The Robing Room is used as the dressing room for royalty. This room is covered in ornate wood paneling and large paintings.
Royal Gallery
Originally designed for the procession of the monarch between the Robing Room and the various Chambers of Parliament, it is now more commonly used as a large lobby. This room is the largest room in the palace.
Prince's Chamber
Originally used as an antechamber into the Chambers of Parliament, the room is now used as a place for various politicians can discuss business.
Lords Chamber
This Chamber of Parliament is used by the Vale's nobility to debate and discuss current affairs.
Peer's Lobby
The Peer's Lobby is a private lobby for the nobles of the Vale.
Central Lobby
The Central Lobby is the heart of the palace and provides routes to the various areas within the palace.
Members' Lobby
The Members' Lobby is a private lobby for the Vale Parliament.
Parliament Chamber
The Parliament Chamber is where the members of the Vale Parliament meet and conduct legislative affairs.
Westminster Hall
Also called the Judicial Chambers, this massive room is where judicial affairs of the Vale are conducted.
