The Premier of the Galactic Union is the head of state and government of the Galactic Union, as well as the presiding officer of the Galactic Assembly. The Office of the Premier was the central name for the advisors to the Premier. The premier can serve up to four 5-year terms. The Premier is elected by and from the delegates of the Galactic Assembly, and can be removed from office through a vote of no-confidence. The first member of the human species to become Premier was Ellvic Hinstone in 2970 AHT.

Style of office

The Premier of the Galactic Union used the style of "Your Excellency". When in the Galactic Assembly, the Premier traditionally referred to him/herself in the third person as "The Chair"/"The Chair(wo)man" to highlight their position as primus/a inter pares (first among equals).
