The Rally of the Democrats (French: Rassemblement des Démocrates; RDD), commonly known as the Democrats (French: Démocrates) or the Democratic Party (French: Parti démocrate), is a centre-right political party in Ainin. Founded by members of the National Party after its downfall in the 1968 events, it has traditionally been the main right-wing force in Aininian politics. However, in recent years, its position has been challenged by the National Alliance from the Esquarisceptic far-right and by the breakaway Citizens' Alliance from the centre. Its main rival is the centre-left Social Democratic Party.
History bla bla bla
The Democrats currently form the official opposition in the National Assembly. The party additionally forms the government in six of Ainin's thirteen provinces and holds eight seats in the Esquarian Parliament, where it sits with the Esquarian Democratic Union. It last formed government from the 2014 election to the 2015 snap election, as a result of the West Aininian crisis.
Anna Barési is the interim leader of the party since 22 March 2015, upon the resignation of Caroline Évales.
