Shadoveil, officially the Federated Kingdoms of Shadoveil, is a developed nation located on the planet of Anteria. The mainland is bordered by Anderum to the east, Vescarium to the west, and Fichmanistan to the southwest. The Autonomous Prefecture of Kaory borders Tsokeiku to the east. The nation's legislative and executive of Innä rests alongside the coast of the Sivuk Gulf. Other notable cities include Korunas, Korus, Freyja, Kaory, Nolstan, and Rekji.
Shadoveil is one of the most densley populated and urbanized nations in Anteria. A large portion of the nation's terrain is urbanized, with the remainder being savannahs, steppes, sprawling deserts, and mountains. Shadoveil is divided into 5 administrative prefectures, 2 autonomous prefectures, and 1 territory. The Greater Innä Area is the largest metropolitan area in the world, and its main city of Innä is the largest city in the world proper.
History
The area that makes up Shadoveil has been inhabited by many thousands of years, primarily settled by the nomadic Glorian and Tashrek peoples. Initial Shadoveilian settlement began around 893 AD by banished Neuew nobles. These nobles set up numerous kingdoms and fiefdoms that would consistently fight amongst each other as well as against the native Glorians. These kingdoms would continue to exist in roughly the same way until the mid 1600s, when the House of Alaakerz began an attempt to unite the kingdoms into one main entity, centered around the first landing site of Innä. Upon complete unification in 1689, the young nation of Shadoveil immediatly sought to expand its borders, obtaining the southern regions after a short war against the various Glorian tribes residing within the area. These tribes were pushed deep into the desert after the war and are to this day persecuted within Shadoveil. In 1756, Shadoveil entered a union with the Tashrek Sultante, which is now one of 2 autonomous prefectures within Shadoveil. In 1907, Shadoveil entered the Great War on the side of the Iron Pact, hoping too expand its colonial empire. While Shadoveil did not lose anything in the aftermath of the war, it was a national humiliation that led to the 1913 abdication of Ilvin Alaakerz and the 1922 Glorian Revolution. The Glorians formed a military dictatorship marketed as the Republic of Gloria. The Shadoveilian royal government would flee to their colony of Kaory and remained there until 1972 biding their time. In 1971, the Shadoveil Crisis would begin after the Gorian government attempted to restrict foreign television broadcasts and the people as a whole rose up to push their government out of power. This united front would not last long, and eventually a full scale civil war developed that lasted 5 years. Ultimately the Royalist government came out on top and controlled the country for the first time since 1922. Shortly after reestablishment of crown rule, King Ionas Alaakerz would be assassinated in 1983, leading to 3 years of authoritarian regency rule. This rule would be ended by the 1986 Poppy Revolution that sought to bring Prince Iakov Alaakerz to the throne and establish a constitutional monarchy. In 2020, the Shadoveilian government would begin the Vescarian Bush War whih led to the annexation of the prefecture of Transcalia and the establishment of the Mandate of Vescarium.
