Tas, officially the Republic of Tas, is a nation in central America. It is bordered by Gatula to the north, Free Republic to the southwest, Sury to the south-southwest, Pera to the south, and Hud to the east. It has a coast with the Hud Sea to the northeast.

Tas ranks moderately high in civil liberties and high in political freedom. Tas has seen declining ratings of all civil liberties, except for equality and fair trial. Surveillance has increased and the government has become less democratic. The federal system is slowly becoming a unitary system, since the federal government has gradually removed rights from the individual states. Democratic elections are protected, however turnout has declined through the years and most recently stands around 35%.

Tas mainly produces food products and weaponry. Tas is the only country that regularly exports weaponry, mostly personal-use guns, knives, and bows and arrows. Tas’ economy has been weak for a number of years since demand for Tassan products is low. Tas has no significant sources of valuable minerals and has not excelled in the technology market.

Etymology

Tas is a shortened form of Texas, which is name used for a variety of entities in present-day Lomba. Texas and Tejas were derived from a Native American word, Taysha, meaning friend. The name was made plural to represent "friends."
