The Tenahli-class aircraft carriers are a pair of aircraft carriers in service with the Syaran Commonality Navy. The two ships, CNS Sanctuary of Lost Souls and the Solemn Path to Salvation, are the first aircraft carriers produced by the Commonality of Syara. They are named after the Battle of Tenahli.
The Republic of Syara had produced the Parilla-class carriers after the Siduri War, and had originally planned to replace them in the 1980s after procuring the Nephele fighter. The outbreak of the Refusal War in 1983 placed such plans on hold, and it wasn't until the early 2000s that the newly established Commonality Navy began pursuing the construction of a carrier force. Progress was slow owing to rising tensions with Ruvelka, which shifted Syaran strategic priority. Sanctuary of Lost Souls was laid down in 2003 and Solemn Path to Salvation followed a year later, but construction slowed considerably following the Imerti Conflict and was all but halted during the Zemplen War. Work resumed in January 2012 and Sanctuary of Lost Souls was launched in December 2013, followed a year later by Solemn Path to Salvation. Extensive service upgrades had to be conducted during their first few years in service due to their protracted development, and only put out to sea intermittently until 2016.
The Tenahli-class measures 262 meters long and weighs in at 42,000 tons. Both ships are conventionally powered with an effective range of 16,000 kilometers and a crew of just under 2,000 including both naval and air personnel. The air complement consists of 30 Kirkos fighters, 2 Erodius AEW, and 8 Acanthis utility and ASW helicopters. Since 2020, Sanctuary of Lost Souls has been assigned to the Western Fleet based out of Moddra, while the Solemn Path to Salvation has been assigned to the Northern Fleet based out of Sena.
The Tenahli-class is expected to be supplemented by the Van Lao-class in the 2020s.
