Theodora Eliz Yeterian (born 22 August 1995) is a Ruvelkan singer and songwriter who came to prominence in 2014 after signing with Redwave. She later released her debut album Theodora in 2017 to critical and commercial acclaim. Theodora would later be certified platinum in several countries in Tyran and its success won her several accolades as a rising star in Ruvelkan pop culture and as a breakthrough artist.

Her second album, Lost Souls, Broken Hearts, which was inspired by her experiences as a young teenager during the Zemplen War as well as the anecdotes of Ruvelkan veterans—including her own parents who both served in the conflict—was also received with critical acclaim. The album helped Theodora win Ruvelkan Female Solo Artist of the Year and Best Ruvelkan Album of the Year at the 2021 National Arts Awards as well as Best Foreign Album at the 2021 Cacertian Pop Culture Symposium.

In 2022, she made a runway debut at the Fumicino Fashion Week representing Marano, a fashion house she had previously modeled for in 2012.

Early Life

Theodora Yeterian was born in the closed city of Keszlis, the eldest daughter of Hayeren-Ruvelkan parents Leniya Yeterian and Aramais Máté—through her maternal grandfather, she is also of Khiyzan descent. She has a brother, Vram, and a sister, Sevana. Her family on both sides have had a long history in the Aszód District and some of her extended family live in the city of Azatyan in Hayreniky, Syara. Theodora was influenced by her mother, a former ballerina, to pursue the arts and she eventually settled on music and began singing at the age of five. Through her parents, she was exposed to a variety of Ruvelkan and Gylian bands growing up, which would shape her style.

Her father, an active duty member of the Imperial Fusiliers, was stationed at the joint military base of the Imperial Armed Forces at Keszlis. Theodora grew up in the Ark Royal Borough and attended Keresztes Primary School where she began to learn to play violin. At age nine, as her musical and singing talents began to improve, her parents sent her to boarding school at the Karni Kinosian School of Art in Aszód.

At the start of the Zemplen War in 2008, her father was assigned to serve with Army Group South under Tibor Fehér. As the SCAF crossed the border, Theodora and her siblings were taken by their mother to live with their maternal grandparents in Derecske before Leniya would later be called back to service with the Imperial Air Force. Theodora continued to focus on advancing her musical education despite the hardships of the war. She achieved her GCE while in Derecske and briefly returned to Keszlis in August 2010 after the end of the war to visit her parents, who had both survived the conflict.

In September 2010, Theodora moved to Debrecen and began attending Rózsá Prohászka Theater School full-time. During her tenure there, she began uploading her own songs to Proton as well as posting videos of herself covering popular songs on NetStream. The covers included Neo-Gylian Sound acts such as Stella Star and Stereolab, which were among her earliest musical influences. Her online presence caught the attention of the Ruvelkan branch of the Cacertian fashion house Marano with whom she began modelling for in 2012. Her association with Marano eventually helped her get in touch with producers at Redwave with whom she would sign with in late 2014.

In September 2013, Theodora reported for her mandatory military service with the Ruvelkan Territorial Defense Force. She was stationed with the garrison at Mátészalka and continued to practice music and singing in her spare time—members of her unit would later go on to express their support for her pursuit of a musical career. Theodora was discharged from service in October 2014 and signed with the Redwave record label in November of the same year.
