Midagan, officially the Republic of Midagan (Fiteny: Repoblikan'i Midagan) is a unitary presidential dominant-party republic in Coius, and the world's second-most populous country, with a population of around 690 million. The country spans approximately 3,217,872 square kilometres (1,242,427 sq mi), bordering Songguo to the southwest and Denikert to the north. It's largest city is Zhemri, while Tanàna Vaovao acts as capital.

Many early civilisations arose in ancient Midagan. Prior to 201 CE, the area was inhabited primarily by Proto-Ouwaran tribes. In 201 however, the ocean-going Fiteny people migrated from their island homes in the Vehemens, and subdued local tribes in a series of lengthy conflict. At the culmination of this, they founded the First dynasty, and quickly grew to become a major power in South Coian politics. Midagan would continue to expand, fracture and re-unify numerous times, under a number of dynasties. From 603 to 921 CE, the Fourth dynasty presided over a growing cultural, military and technological power, although their rule was ended by the migration and invasion of Khataghi warriors, who subsequently adopted certain Midagani traditions and established the brief Fifth dynasty, which ruled until it's overthrow in 1107 CE during the Great Anarchy.

Order would be restored in 1198 CE by the Sixth dynasty, ending close to a hundred years of disorganised rule and warlordism. Although seeing recovery, a period of decline would ensue. The dynastic system would come to an end in 1895, when the Nineteenth dynasty was overthrown and sent into exile by the popular Blackblood Revolution, and was swiftly replaced by a republican government. The exiled imperial government would continue to vie for control of the country, and in 1909 would manage to reclaim vast swathes of the mainland from the faltering republican government, before the mediated Peace of Thorns was signed in 1910. The Dynastic government would come to resemble a Gaullican puppet over the following years, while the Republic would grow closer to Estmere. The Great War saw the Republic victorious and the reunification of Midagan in 1951. Under republican rule, the country has seen a vast reconstruction and modernisation effort and insistent economic growth, combined with a mixed human rights record and compromised elections under the dominant party.

The country maintains a GDP PPP per capita of $16,624, and a total GDP PPP of $11.48 trillion. The country remains the world's largest exporter of goods, characterized as the Workshop of the South, and is considered a newly industrialized country. The current First Consul is Tiana Nirina, while the current First Speaker of the National Convention is Zafilaza Rzafitrimo, both members of the dominant Popular Liberation Front. Noted as one of Kylaris' key great powers, Midagan was a founding member of the Community of Nations, and maintains a strong nuclear arsenal alongside the world's largest standing army. The Republic also retains membership in a number of formal and informal multilateral organizations, such as South Coian Defence Initiative, the International Council for Democracy and the International Trade Organisation.
