Zanac Day is a national day of remembrance in Zanarkand and New Akiba that broadly commemorates all Zanarkians and New Akibanders "who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations" and "the contribution and suffering of all those who have served". Observed on 25 April each year, Zanac Day was originally devised to honour the members of the Zanarkand and New Akiba Army Corps (ZANAC) who served in the Asianna Campaign during the First Europan War, and their first battle at the 413-day Siege of Thanh Bac.
