The territory of Oteki as claimed by the Otekian separatists.

Oteki (Отеки) is a term that has multiple meanings. It is most commonly used to describe the geographical region situated between Shanpei, Geadland and Luziyca that is officially known in Namor as Txotai. It can also refer to area of Txotai where ethnic Otekians are a majority, although the boundaries of this area is not exactly defined due to the presence of other ethnic groups.

In the present day, the term Oteki carries a political connotation. This is due to its associations with the Otekian independence movement; supporters of Otekian independence use Oteki, viewing it as the legitimate name of the region. Some countries, chiefly Luziyca officially use Oteki, whereas the Namorese government and media rarely use Oteki and refer to the region as "Txotai (Zotay in Luziycan)" instead. The Namorese government has been known for its stringent opposition to the word Oteki, and has threatened to not do business with any country that uses it either exclusively or interchangeably with Txotai.

The demonym of Oteki is Otekian, but unlike Oteki, which describes a geographical region, Otekian describes the Otekian ethnicity, and is thus deemed acceptable by both Namor and Otekian separatists.
